Paul Rondema, Children’s Author

Having spent much of my childhood in China and Nigeria, I value a multicultural perspective and an inclusive world view. I strive to promote hope and a growth mindset through my stories, poems and essays.

My poems, stories and essays have appeared in many magazines, journals and websites as well as the anthology Over Land and Rising.

On a personal note, I and my family love to read (most recently the Harry Potter series), run 5K’s and tend to our backyard garden. We can be found most Saturday mornings in the summer biking to our local farmer’s market for whatever doesn’t grow in our garden.

I work at Corbett High School in Corbett, Oregon (after 16 years at Reynolds Middle School). I currently teach Geometry, Algebra II and AP Statistics and have taught (at varying times in the past) 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade Math, English Language Developent, ELD Math and Health. I coach Track and Field and Cross Country and have taught after school classes in Creative Writing (with an emphasis on picture books), Math Enrichment and Fitness/Yoga.
